Consider these tips:

1. Healthy snacks. Keep healthy snacks available for your child to munch on when he or she is hungry. For example instead of chips or sweets, you can give your child fresh chopped fruits. Aside from water, keep milk and fresh juice available for them to drink when thirsty.

2. Hidden Vegetables. Chop or mash vegetables into your child’s favorite soup or dish. This way you can get them eat vegetables without the fuss.

3. Get help from your child. Children love to be part of family activities like doing grocery with mom and let her choose the items. Give them things to do that fit their age.

4. Respect your child’s appetite. Our child’s stomach is smaller than ours and therefore they eat less food. Sometimes they are overwhelmed by the amount of food on their plate. Love for our child drives our concern and desire for them to be healthy. Show this love by being there for them – play with them, listen to them, laugh with them. Our presence enables us to have a deeper relationship with our kids, and be their partners in their pursuit to a healthy lifestyle.

I have just revealed what I got for my mom this year. (See post here) This time let’s see what I got for the kids around our household. I got 5 nieces. Four of them are already in elementary school while the youngest one is only 3 y/o. Knowing kids… if one has something, all the rest might as well have so I bought 5 of this Angry Birds Water Bottle – one for each. Not only that it will delight their innocent hearts but it is also something they can use on a daily basis.

I was going to pick something else like maybe clothes or toys but knowing how engrossed they are with this app and those wingless birds, I thought seeing the stuffs will double the size of their grins come the gift-giving day.

I also have here a polar fleece blanket for the still delicate and fragile, RJ. He is the newest member of the family and is only a month old.

Gift wrapping shall be done next week. I want my girls to enjoy it too so I’m waiting till they’re off from school which is going to be real soon. Can’t wait!

Linking to Colorful Weekend

Well at moms is where they get to play indoor and outdoor games and to mine for the online ones. Thank God I already had my old desktop computer fixed. I have weeks left to download new games for them. This time I might also include bingo games for kids if not print some printable bingo cards… colorful ones.  Or maybe take them to online bingo game site for kids sometimes to let them see and experience the difference.

This game had taken a long way so far being a new addition to their recreation activities during their free time. Mom will take home some bingo cards from school they can play with together on weekends.

By the way, my mom is retired high school teacher. But at 56 she is still very much capable to teach so she took the part-time job from the same school and this time teaching elementary pupils. Every once in a while they organize a Bingo day as fun way of educating their students. They also have started making it part of their activities on some important school occasions too like Teacher’s Day, Parent’s Day, School Foundation Days and Fiestas.

Perhaps there are only few people around especially parents realizes it.
