Loved on the Outside, Protected on the Inside

October 16, 2012

I was in the middle of working on a blog post early this afternoon when a power interruption took place. While waiting for it to come back, I went through the compiled magazines that I have at home and came across of a considered important disease awareness campaign published on one of the old magazines. Though old, I thought it is still worth-sharing as everyone deserves free information especially if it concerns the health of our gentle ones.

So from my old magazine to your home…

Loved on the outside, protected on the inside against the bacteria that may cause both ear infections and meningitis
As a mother, you want your child to hear and understand every word of love you say. But hearing loss and brain damage can get in the way of that, especially for babies who catch the bacteria that may cause both Otitis Media and Meningitis.
Otitis Media or “luga”, is an ear infection that is one of the leading causes of hearing loss in the country, while meningitis is an infection of the brain that may lead to mental retardation.
Both Otitis Media and Meningitis are infections that belong to a family of diseases called pneumococcal disease. 1 out of 3 Filipino children who suffer from invasive pneumococcal disease will die.
Give your baby adequate protection against the most common bacteria causing meningitis, pneumonia, sepsis and ear infections. Ask you r doctor and protect as early as 6 weeks of age.
