do-it-yourself magazine holder

April 14, 2010

Today's little accomplishment is a paper/magazine holder in addition to what I have just made few days ago. Thought of not just bragging about it but to also share how I did it this time. So now let's learn simple art. Even your kids at home can do this by themselves.

Here's what you need:

Now follow the following steps:
1. SEARCH. First off, you want to browse the web for your design preference. On the search box simply key in the phrase "office paper holders" and you're good to go.

2. Make an outline. On the board, you want to draw lines according to your preferred measurements. Cut the outline, slowly fold edges and bring to shape accordingly.

3. To make it look more durable, I packed each edge with an adhesive tape. This step is optional but is highly recommended for quality result.

4. Final touch. Now however you want your project to look when done is entirely up to you. You may want to use special recycled paper that are available from bookstores or simply utilize whatever is up for free grab just like what I did. Spare gift wrapping papers or old magazine covers will do. Just be creative!

You see, simple art like this can actually make a nice personal organizer or even a gift to your friends. And you know it is already special in itself the fact that it is personal hand made. :)
